Research interests
Ahmad El Hajjar is currently a Post-doctoral Researcher within the ROBOCONE project (2022-25) at the University of Bristol, UK. The ROBOCONE is an innovative robotic site investigation tool for intelligent ground characterization, capable of applying complex load histories to support the whole-life design of offshore piled foundations.
Before joining the University of Bristol, Ahmad contributed as a Post-Doctoral Researcher in the BIOFIS project (2020-22) at the Normandy University, France. His research was primarily concerned with Unsaturated Soil Mechanics focusing on the cracks repair in clays through the MICP process (Bio-Geotechnics). He received his PhD in 2020 from the Normandy University, having developed a novel device, DIC-CRT, for quantifying mechanical stresses and local strains leading to desiccation cracking in clay soils.
